Meet your cancer nurse navigator

"I couldn't find the support we needed — so I built it."

I am Jeanette Clark, an Independent Cancer Nurse Navigator and a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of clinical experience — including more than 20 years in nursing education and a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE)

It wasn't until cancer touched my own family that I truly understood what patients and caregivers face. My husband Russell was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma of the brain. The disease progressed rapidly. Suddenly we were navigating a maze of appointments, treatment decisions, and insurance paperwork — all while trying to hold each other up emotionally.

What struck me most was how alone we felt in that process. West Texas is a strong, resilient community — but the kind of hands-on, personal guidance we needed simply wasn't available locally. So I created Guided Cancer Support of West Texas with one mission: to make sure no one in our community has to face cancer without a guide by their side.

This organization is built on both clinical expertise and lived experience. I understand the fear, the confusion, and the exhaustion — and I'm here to walk with you through every step.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Compassion First

Every person who reaches out is met with genuine care. I lead with empathy, always — because this journey is hard enough without feeling judged or rushed.

Support for the Whole Family

Cancer affects everyone around the person diagnosed — spouses, children, parents, and friends. I extend my care to all of them, because no one in that circle should carry this alone.

Knowledge Is Power

Understanding your diagnosis and options reduces fear. I believe informed patients and families make stronger, more confident decisions.

Community Over Isolation

The cancer journey can feel incredibly lonely. I am here to change that — connecting people to resources and support so no one walks this road alone.

Our Approach

Personal. Present. Practical.

We don't believe in one-size-fits-all support. Every person's cancer journey is different — shaped by their diagnosis, their family, their fears, and their strengths.

I work directly with each person who reaches out — taking the time to understand their specific situation and walking with them, not ahead of them, through every step. Whether you need help understanding a treatment plan, finding local resources, or simply someone who gets it to talk to, I'm here.
